The village between Lakes Brienz and Thun has a history dating back thousands of years. Only with the construction of the Interlaken railway station has Unterseen been increasingly eclipsed by tourism. This jewel in the Bernese Oberland has a medieval town centre with a church, a town house and a 17th-century castle at the western end. Lighted steles illuminate the street, the paths and the facades of the residential buildings. Spotlights highlight the town house, the church tower and the facade of the castle. The setting, which combines past and present, is completed by light accents in the square.
